Everything is clear and functional. Wooden walls of glulam timber require no additional insulation or treatment. Light-toned timber looks especially elegant with contrasting laminated glazing. The gable roof, characteristic of Ukrainian houses, blends harmoniously into both urban and country exteriors.

The heart of the house is the kitchen-living room with access to the spacious open terrace. Two or three bedrooms, each of which can serve as an office, a children’s room, a guest room, a library, a creative studio, or a walk-in closet. The façade or side section with the entrance door is adorned with a large porch with a canopy on sturdy posts. The project is single-storey – barrier-free, safe, and convenient to move around in at any age.

What layout variants for the Valma 001 project do the KOLEO authors offer:

• a large living room takes up half the house, the other part is given over to a corridor, a bathroom and two bedrooms, either adjoining or separated by a corridor;
• to fit a third bedroom, a partition appears in the living room, and the master bedroom has its own exit to the terrace.

The exact placement of the rooms and the entrance group with the porch depends on the size and configuration of the plot, its orientation relative to the compass points, and the settlement’s building lines. The tone of the walls, roof, protective structures, and window profile is selected individually. On solid ground, a budget-friendly strip foundation is permitted.
