A cup of hot chocolate, a light scent of spruce, golden sunbeams filling the space of the terrace and the kitchen-living room. Only a few months separate you from carefree mornings in a cosy alpine chalet – from ordering the project, connecting the utilities through to construction and handover of the property.
KOLEO construction company presents an ergonomic single-storey chalet project of 113 m² made of glulam, suitable for any climate zone of Ukraine. Swiss standard: roof pitch up to 30°, wide eaves around the whole perimeter, a spacious relaxation zone, plenty of light and air.
Chalet 001 by KOLEO: you create the layout
The advantage of single-storey glulam house construction lies in the flexibility of the layout.
KOLEO’s architectural office has developed four zoning interpretations for a stylish eco house of 9x12m with French windows.
The terrace connects through a wide portal to the spacious kitchen-living room: an area for family gatherings, meals, relaxation, celebrations and receiving guests that combines home comfort with fresh air outside. Regardless of the number of bedrooms and their location, the bathroom and transit-zone area is preserved, and there’s a porch in front of the main entrance.
Layout variants of Chalet 001 with 2 or 3 bedrooms:
two bedrooms side by side or separated by a hall/hallway;
a third bedroom with its own exit to the terrace takes up part of the living room.
The living room easily converts into a home office for remote work or a private practice, a playroom, a workshop, a walk-in closet, or a collector’s room.
Bonus. The two-bedroom project can be complemented with a double-sided fireplace between the living room and the terrace.
The single-storey glulam chalet is ideal as a permanent residence for adults of any age (barrier-free space) and families with children, and for setting up an office or restaurant. Main clients: private landowners, comfort+ class cottage villages, out-of-town recreational complexes, ski resorts.
Chalet 001 timber house project: construction technologies
Carpathian glulam has a low thermal conductivity of 0.8-0.1 W/m*K; with correct installation without cold bridges it doesn’t shrink, needs no external insulation, and saves up to 15% on heating costs. The glulam boards are hypoallergenic, treated with a fire-retardant compound, joined with non-toxic glue, with a service life of up to 100 years.
The choice of glazed structures, timber shade and roofing for the Chalet 001 timber house project is discussed individually. The type of foundation depends directly on the soil quality of the plot; the Chalet 001 project allows for a budget-friendly strip foundation.
