Boundlessness, lightness, durability and charm
Panoramic windows occupy up to 50% of the Chalet 002 perimeter: the view outside is constantly changing, creating the illusion of an open environment, combined with the full comfort of 21st-century living — every convenience, standalone heating and minimal heating costs. A pleasant bonus from the architects is a bay-window zone in the kitchen-living room — a place for complete relaxation or enjoyable family meals.
The KOLEO construction company’s Chalet 002 project echoes Frank Lloyd Wright’s legendary «prairie houses», with wide eaves and a complete fusion with the surrounding landscape. The Swiss-style gable roof and walls of durable glulam are designed to withstand the heavy snowfalls of the protected Carpathian forests and the stormy downpours of coastal Odesa.
Chalet 002 project: we tailor the house layout individually
The sketch design of the chalet-style house takes into account the structural features of a single-storey glulam cottage. The load-bearing walls cannot be moved. The rest of the space is easily adapted to the client’s requirements.
Basic layout variations for Chalet 002:
- Two bedrooms separated by an entrance hall, facing different sides of the house. Or: shifted into a corner of the house, sharing a single wall.
- One large hall connects a straight path from the covered porch to the kitchen-living room and on to the terrace. Variant – entrance from the side of the building, with an entrance hall and a transit corridor.
- The kitchen-living room with a bay window is divided into a kitchen zone and a lounge area with a soft seating corner. Variant: the lounge is moved into the bay window, freeing up space for a third bedroom with its own access to the terrace.
In every case there is a clear separation of shared and private zones, precisely calculated logistics, ample natural light throughout the day, a large bathroom and plenty of storage space. The covered porch and terrace with garden furniture combine homely intimacy with the boundlessness of the natural surroundings.

The adaptable layout, wide terraces and panoramic windows make the KOLEO architects’ design a versatile base option for a comfort-class cottage development, a club-type dacha community, or lodge-style cottages for an upscale eco-hotel in the forest, steppe, mountains, by the sea or by a river.
The elegant building, with 360° glazing and two or three exits, can easily be transformed into an office, a shop or a restaurant in a low-rise development area.

The KOLEO construction company manufactures glulam building elements at its own production facility, along with machine-round logs and profiled timber. The glulam is produced under high pressure without toxic adhesives: it does not rot or crack, has minimal shrinkage, and is 100% eco-friendly.
We analyse the plot, develop the engineering part of the project, produce the wall materials, build a reliable foundation, install the glazed structures and roof, connect the utility systems, and carry out the interior finishing work — for building sites in Ukraine. Construction of the single-storey Chalet 002 cottage does not require a building permit to begin work. The building, with a design service life of 50+ years and a high level of energy efficiency, is erected on-site within a few months.
