Behind the huge windows of this striking cottage in Frank Lloyd Wright’s prairie style, life goes on: day gives way to night, sun and moon parade across the sky, leaves appear and fall, flowers bloom and fruit ripens. Not a single event of the small universe around you is wasted: the panoramic glazing of the modular home FACHWERK 60 covers more than 40 % of the façade.
The KOLEO construction company installs this futuristic, energy-efficient house of Carpathian timber on a plot with any terrain in a few weeks. The shade of the walls, frames, beams, posts and terrace is matched to the surrounding landscape or to the concept of the residential development.

The FACHWERK 60 project: comfortable rooms with two bedrooms and panoramic glazing
Both designs include a kitchen-living room, two bedrooms, a bathroom and circulation space across 60 m². High walls, a gable roof and wide eaves shield the rooms from direct sunlight; the windows in the bedroom and living room reach the floor. The end wall between the kitchen-living room and the large covered terrace of 2.4 × 6.7 m is fully glazed.
The FACHWERK 60 layout includes:
- a kitchen-living room of 20 m² with three lighting points, joined by a glass wall to the large covered terrace of 2.4 × 6.7 m;
- two bedrooms with deep alcoves, 10 m² each;
- a square hall of 6 m² by the entrance door with a porch;
- a connecting hallway between all the rooms of the house;
- a bathroom of 5.5 m² — enough space for a full bath or a spacious built-in shower area.
One of the FACHWERK 60 bedrooms can serve as a private medical practice, a study, a room for collections, a creative workshop or a dressing room.
Timber-frame modular home FACHWERK 60 – durability and energy saving
The KOLEO construction company produces the sturdy timber structure of this modular eco house from high-grade Carpathian spruce at its own production facility. While the modular home is being built in the company’s workshops, all the electrical, heating and water networks are installed.
FACHWERK 60 has a high energy-saving class:
- autonomous heating;
- walls with non-combustible, non-toxic insulation of 200 mm outperform brick and ceramic blocks in thermal conductivity;
- roof and floor with 200 mm insulation;
- a multi-chamber profile and ‘smart’ glass are recommended, reflecting UV radiation outwards and heat back inside;
The building has an insulating air cushion, can be installed on any type of ground and withstands strong earthquakes.

Construction takes a few weeks and does not require a large plot. FACHWERK 60 suits cottage and holiday club settlements. The elegant lodge with panoramic glazing is in demand as a holiday rental; several buildings make up a stylish countryside resort in any climate zone.
